Neon Structure
Location: Byparken, Ørestads Boulevard
Time: Daily from 5pm-10pm
Thorbjørn Lausten’s Neon Structure towers eight meters high above the ground. The green and red neon tubes turn on and off in intervals giving the work the appearance of a giant traffic light. A set of arrows pointing in the direction of the Bella Centre where diplomats and decision makers will meet to negotiate the future of the planet.
Lausten’s work is conceptually linked to Steven Scott’s Scotia masts that are exhibited by the entrance of the Bella Centre. The masts are mounted with solar cells that enable them to generate more than enough power for their own use. Surplus power is sent into the grid which feeds electricity to Neon Structure.
