Culture Night 2008

Illumenarts may be one among a few who gets enthusiastic about the darkness of fall and winter. In collaboration with the Ørestad Culture Days, we seized the opportunity to show how the architecture of Ørestad is convenient to light installations. The dark hours is a perfect scene to set Danish light and visual artists. The intallations provide a fascinating and a thoughtful experience.

On october 10th 2008, visitors had the chance to experience Lotte Tauber Lassen's media art piece tiltled "Kakofonia" in Ørestad Nord area.

Kakofonia is a projection of old film recordings showing crowds of people and horse carriages in a city at the dawn of the 20th century.

Big Art in the Night

From October 8th to 11th, Ørestad's modern facades were used as giant screens to show dynamic pieces of Danish contemporary artists.
Three areas took part of the scenery. Firstly, pieces of Jacob Tækker and Lotte Tauber Lassen appeared on facades of Det Kgl. Bibliotek (The Royal Library) and the ITU (The IT-University)  both in Ørestad North district. Furthermore, the Universitetskanalen (University-Canal) saw itself enlightened by a piece of Hans E. Madsens. Last but not least, the artistic duo, composed of Anders Bojen and Kristoffer Ørum, showed one of their video pieces on the facades of the shopping Mall Field’s in Ørestad South.
